Edith Heath: A Life in Clay
Discover the tale of Edith Heath, founder of Heath Ceramics, whose company revolutionized the ceramics industry by manufacturing dinnerware from California clay for “Sunday best” and day-to-day use.
Heath’s legacy lives on through her stoneware and tile, which she began creating in 1952. Heath Ceramics is an icon of American design driven by the power of good design and a dedication to her work. Simple, yet elegant, it has become an iconic symbol of American creativity.
This is not your typical ceramics or crafts exhibition; it mixes historic items, photographs, documentary videos, and mementos to tell the story of Heath’s legacy and impact.
