Best Things to Do in the Bay Area

Swan Oyster Depot

Swan Oyster Depot is not only one of the most popular seafood restaurants in San Francisco, but it’s also larger than life. For locals, this is the finest in San Francisco. It’s a requirement for tourists as part of their itinerary because it’s an institution among locals.

This is a classic San Francisco eatery at its finest. There are no tables available. All there is to it is a marble counter with eighteen seats and a long queue out the door. If you’re fortunate enough to get a seat, you’ll be greeted by an extended member of the family who runs the business.

The cuisine is all fresh seafood prepared to allow you to appreciate the freshness. The Half Shell Oysters are a fantastic alternative, served with a choice of traditional cocktail sauce or mignonette.

The Buena Vista

The Buena Vista, which opened in 1916, was originally a bar called the Buena Vista on the ground floor of the building. It served as a comfortable meeting place for hundreds of fishermen who worked at the nearby Sardine Cannery.

In 1952, Buena Vista introduced the world to its famous Irish Coffee. The recipe has stayed the same and the view is still fantastic.

Enjoy a Dungeness crab omelet with cage-free eggs, flavorful grilled sourdough bread, or Premium Quality 100% Angus Beef steaks and burgers for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Of course, all of these alternatives go wonderfully with their wonderful Irish Coffee.

Coit Tower

The Coit Tower, a thin white concrete pillar that rises from the top of Telegraph Hill and has been an emblem of San Francisco’s skyline since its completion in 1933, is both a welcome sight and a familiar landmark to visitors and residents alike.

The observation deck of Coit Tower offers 360-degree views of the city and bay, including the Golden Gate and Bay bridges. Lillie Hitchcock Coit was a wealthy benefactor to San Francisco’s firefighters who donated this elegant tower.

You may hear the boisterous clamor of the neighborhood’s most famous and noisiest residents, the flock of parrots, as you explore the trails that wind around the tower and down the hill.

The Wave Organ

The Wave Organ is an acoustic sculpture on a jetty in San Francisco Bay that responds to the movement of water. Peter Richards and George Gonzalez came up with the idea.

The Wave Organ is located in San Francisco’s Marina district, on a jetty that was carved from an old cemetery. This work features material taken from a demolished cemetery, including beautiful carved granite and marble, which were utilized during its creation.

The Wave Organ creates sound by the waves hitting the ends of the pipes and making the water move in and out of the pipes. You can hear it best when there is a lot of water at high tide.

Alta Plaza Park During Pug Sunday

Every first Sunday at 2:30 p.m., Alta Plaza Park is the cutest get-together in San Francisco. With pugs from all across town, you’ll be in dog paradise.

The park is overwhelmed by as many as 75 pugs, but the canines are not limited to that breed. All kinds of dogs are welcome at the event as long as they are pug friendly.

Come to the park to play with new furry friends. Dogs run free there, and people love to bring picnic blankets and dog treats to share.
